What factors influence Flame-Resistance

Multiple considerations and tests should be used to provide insight into the durability of flame resistant fabrics and garments. They can be categorized into two primary groupings:
Appearance and Functionality.

Functionality includes:

Abrasion Resistance

Abrasion resistance is the ability of a fabric to resist surface wear caused by rubbing contact with another material. There are several test methods used to measure abrasion resistance, among the most common is Martindale abrasion.

Tear strength

Tear strength is the resistance of a fabric against tearing or force required to propagate the tear once it is initiated. Fabrics with low tear strength will usually have a shortened service life. Garments made from fabrics with good tear strength may outlast similar garments with higher tensile strength.

Flame resistance

Flame resistance is the most important aspect of durability for a protective garmant. Industry standards like NFPA 2112 and ASTM F1506 include flammability durability requirements as determined by ASTM test method D6413. NFPA 2112 is the more strenuous standard requiring fabrics to have a char length of no more than 100 mm (4 inches) and after-flame of 2 seconds or less.  These requirements must be met.

How Xinke Guarantee Flame-Resistance for the Life of Garment?

1.Construct

Using high-quality fibers and yarns constructed to custom specifications, to make sure the abrasion resistance and tear strength is excellent.
According to Martindale abrasion, 88% cotton/12% nylon FR fabric can stand more than 60,000 cycles.
Tear strength is much higher than ASTM F 1560 requirement, See ASTM F 1506 test report

2.Protect

FR protection is embedded into the cotton structure

3.Soften

Through a unique balance of chemical and mechanical procedures, not only make sure the FR performance is excellent, but also make the fabric soft for wear.

4.Broad Testing

At numerous intervals, both internally and in independent labs
Xinke will test every batch fabric before making garments. Only the qualified fabric can be used. And will keep the test records for more than 3 years for tracking.
Xinke’s 88% cotton/12% nylon fabrics are UL certified under NFPA 2112, we will send the fabric to UL for testing per year.

5.Dyes

Using the highest-quality dyes ensures optimal light and colorfastness.
See ASTMF F1506 test report

6.FR Guaranteed

When fabrics are tested for NFPA 2112 certification, the test performed to establish the flame resistance of the fabric is ASTM D 6413– Test Method for Flame Resistance of Textiles (Vertical Test). This test is conducted before and after 100 launderings/dry cleanings. The fabric must pass all requirements after the 100 wash cycles to earn the certification.
See NFPA 2112-2023 version test reports from UL. The tests including:
1.Flame retardant: Original and after 100 times laundering
2.Heat and thermal shrinkage
3.Heat Transfer
4.Manikin Tests

7.Shrinkage Control

Proprietary technology reduces shrinkage over the life of the garment.
After 5 times Launderings, the shrinakge is within +/5%
